Church is not about performance.

At Martin County Baptist Church, we seek to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We want to bring honor and glory to God in all that we do.
Our music is best described as alive, traditional, and Christ-honoring. Our special music and congregational singing is meant to truly honor Him out of a humble heart.

The Bible is the Word of God and, therefore, is to be the center of our worship.

Church is about God and God's Word.
We emphasize Spirit-filled and practical Bible preaching, so that families are encouraged, needs are met, and lives are changed. In every service God's Word is honored and boldly proclaimed as the foundation needed for our lives.

We believe that God not only inspired every word, but that He has preserved each word through the ages. Because we believe that the King James Version is a faithful, accurate translation of the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people, it is the only translation we will use as a church.

We believe every word of God's Word.
We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that the teaching of the theory of evolution attempts to destroy the foundation of our faith.
We believe that there is one true God and that there are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Any other object of worship is idolatry.
We believe that God created man in a state of innocence, that man sinned and fell from that condition and that, by the fall, man lost his original righteousness and became both sinful and depraved. As a natural consequence of Adam's fall, all are depraved.
We believe that man by nature is unable to recover himself from his fallen condition and that, unless God provided a way of salvation, all must be lost forever, for all have sinned.
We believe that God has provided a way of salvation: For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, God in the flesh, came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for our sins on Calvary, rose from the grave on the third day and offers eternal life to all who will repent unto belief and place their faith in His finished work.
We believe in the virgin birth of Christ.
We believe in the eternal security of all who have truly received Christ as Savior.
We believe that a New Testament church is a local, visible assembly of saved, Scripturally baptized believers assembling together to carry out the commands of the Lord.
We believe that God has commissioned the church to preach the Gospel to the world. In order to fulfill that mission, it is the responsibility of the members to contribute to the ministry of the church according to the direction of the Scriptures.
We believe that Christ instituted two pictorial church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is immersion in water of those professing saving faith in Christ. The Lord's Supper is a memorial supper consisting of unleavened bread and pure grape juice. The authority to administer the ordinances rests with the local church.
We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Christ and in the “blessed hope,” His personal and imminent return for His saints.
We believe that at the Second Coming, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints to establish a literal reign on this earth for a period of one thousand years.
We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell.
We believe that the charismatic movement is unscriptural.
